Heath Ellis Vaughn, age 60, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday
afternoon, January 26th, 2011 at a Rome hospital after suffering a heart
A native of Floyd County, Heath was born on November 3rd, 1950, the son
of the late Joe Vaughn and the late Amy Heath Vaughn. Heath had been a
resident of Floyd County his entire life and attended West Rome High
School and Berry Academy. He was a graduate of Berry College with a
degree in Music Education. For a short time he taught school and then
entered the family business, Rome Piano Company. Heath also owned
Marathon Brake Company and Motor Show on Shorter Avenue in Rome.
Heath an avid novel reader and enjoyed a good round of golf. The love of
his life was his Little Scottie Terrier, Banqual. He was preceded in death by
his father and mother.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Sheena Vaughn
of Rome; a nephew, Dr. Joe Vaughn and his wife, Machell of Rome; 2
grand nieces also survive.
Funeral services for Heath were held on Monday afternoon, January 31st,
2011 at 1 o’clock from the graveside of Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in
