Berry Academy Headmaster 1966-71
Charles Frank Campbell, age 87, passed away Thursday,
January 1, 2015 in Alpharetta, Georgia. Born Saturday,
February 19, 1927, he was married to Isabel C. Campbell for
66 years. He served two years in the United States Army in
1944-1945 in the European theatre.
Dr. Campbell graduated from Berry College and earned his
MS degree from the University of Georgia, and his PhD from
Georgia State University. He served as principal at
Oostanaulla, Celanese, and Model schools in the Rome,
Georgia area. He later served as Dean of Admissions at
Berry College and Headmaster at Berry Academy. Dr.
Campbell completed his career in education upon his
retirement from Henderson High School in Atlanta in 1984.
Survivors include his wife, Dr. Isabel Campbell; sons and
daughters-in-law, Keith and Karen Campbell, and David and
Martha Campbell. He was preceded in death by his brother
Wallace Campbell. He is also survived by his brother, Earl
Campbell and sister, Mildred Tietjen, as well as five
grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A memorial service honoring the life of Dr. Frank Campbell
will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in
Barnwell Chapel on the Berry College campus. Immediately
following the service there will be a reception for friends and
family in the Ford Living Room, also on the Berry campus.
